Are You Connected to the True Vine?
Ask yourself that question. If your answer is yes, how are you connected to the True Vine? What fruit are you bearing? For us to be truly connected to the True Vine there is a process we must go through. John 3:5 says “Jesus answered. Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” Which means we must first be born again, through baptism and be filled with the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38 says “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. When we are filled with the Holy Ghost a transformation takes place. That old man is no longer there anymore. You become a new creature. 2 Corinthians 5:17. We no longer walk in the flesh but in the Spirit. When this happens, you begin to bear the fruit of the Spirit. Which is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance. Galatians 5:22. These are examples we must follow. Romans 8:9 says “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. This process is just the beginning and must take place for us to truly be connected to the True Vine. Then there is staying connected. John 15 teaches us how we stay connected. We must abide in him first, then he will abide in us. We must remember that God is a covenant God! He is faithful to us when we are faithful to him. Matthew 6:33 says, But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. That means putting God first over everything. Over your spouse, children, career etc. Then making the choice to seek after His righteousness every day. Once we do these things, everything we need He will provide. That is a promise.
In conclusion, is there something you’ve been asking God for but it seems as though that prayer has gone unanswered? Are you connected to the True Vine?
